NATURE OF WORK:
Diet counseling - Out- patients, In- patients.
Calculating dietetic needs of the patients.
Day to day monitoring of the intake in the hospitalized patients.
Adjusting parental nutrition of the patients according to their needs.
Giving the necessary advice in the parental as well as enteral nutrition.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Presently working with Adita Birla Memorial Hospital, Chinchwad, as the ‘CHIEF DIETICIAN’.
Worked in C.D.R Hospitals, Hyderguda Hyderabad, as a Dietician for two years. Headed the Food and Beverages Dept for the period of six months.
Worked under WOCKHARDT SUPER SPECIALITIES project for two weeks.
This project involved working with two Doctors (P.K. JOSHI & AJIT YADAV, CARDIOLOGISTS) as a Consultant Dietician for Patient Education.
Worked with TALWALKARS FITNESS FELLOWSHIP F.C. College Road Pune as a Dietician for 5 months.
The work involves application of Dietetics in combination with Exercise in weight reduction, controlling Diabetes, Controlling Hyper-tensives and other complications.
Delivered lectures about general nutrition and nutrition and other diseases for the masses in Pimpri – Chinchwad area, Ordnance factory Dehu Road.
Worked as a Consultant Dietician in Lokmanya hospitals at Chinchwad and Nigdi, Pune, from April 1998 to 14th July 2006.

PUBLICATIONS / PAPERS PRESENTED:
“Effect of Low Carbohydrate diet in diabetes mellitus”. Presented .paper at XL IDA conference Kerala to be published in JIDA –2008.
“Nutritional assessment of school going children (6-12 years) in Nagpur city. Accepted for poster session in the XVIIIth Annual meeting of NSI – 1995
“Factors determining Nutritional Status in very low birth weight infants”. The work was done on the low birth weight infants and followed up till their 5-6 yrs. The data of Low birth weight was got from the Govt. Hospital in Hyderabad. The paper was accepted for the poster session in NSI Conference.
Venkateshwara Hatcheries were up coming with a protein supplement with chicken powder. Detailed research was done about protein assessment in highly catabolised patients before and after the supplement was given. The study design and the results of the study were well accepted by the Venky’s groups.
Currently working on “Effect of Neem extract on patients with SIRS”. The pilot of this study was presented in the World Neem conference in Mumbai in November 2002. The properties of Neem leaves are being studied and its effect on reducing the infection rate and the length of hospital stay is being studied in the patients with Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome Patients.

Published an article on paediatric nutrition in local magazine by Dr. Sunil Godbole (Paediatrician, Pune).
INDUSTRIAL NUTRITION:
Involved with the management of the Industrial canteen and their nutrition intake in Krupps (India) ltd and Mercedes Benz, lectures with nutrition for the corporates.
Project on “Alpha Laval canteen”. – Involved one-month study of the cooking practices in the canteen, amount of calories required by the workers, modification of the menu, hygiene practices in the canteen.
Conducted workshop for “Nutrition in Scientist” at Aditya Birla Research center Taloja Mumbai.
SCHOOL NUTRITION:
Planned break-fast menu for City Pride School, Pradhikaran Pune Class LKG to Class 2.
SPORTS NUTRITION:
Lecture on diet and exercise at College Of Physiotherapy in Pradhikaran on their inauguration.
